I am a martial artist with over 20 years of experience, and I’ve probably spent more time practicing kicks, punches, and spins than most people spend deciding what to watch on Netflix. My journey has taken me through a variety of kung fu styles—both the sweat-dripping, external kinds and the calm, meditative internal ones. But if I had to pick a favorite, it would be Baguazhang. There’s something about walking in circles and spiraling movements that feels like unlocking the secrets of the universe (or at least getting really good at dodging things).

I’ve also dabbled in Soviet Systema Kadochnikova, which is as fascinating as it sounds. It’s part of my daily routine now, bringing a dose of precision and flow into my training. Let’s just say my mornings involve more rolls and balance drills than coffee, and that’s saying something.

Martial arts for me has evolved over the years. I no longer train to fight (unless we’re talking about fighting off a second helping of dessert). Instead, it’s my tool for staying sharp, energized, flexible, and conscious in both body and mind. It’s about finding harmony, not just between punches and blocks, but within myself. I firmly believe that martial arts isn’t just about mastering techniques—it’s about mastering life.

Then came 2020, the year that turned all our routines upside down. Like many, I found myself at home, but instead of hitting pause, I turned my living space into a dojo. No fancy gyms, no personal trainers, just creativity, determination, and a slightly nervous cat watching me shadowbox. What started as necessity became a revelation: you can achieve incredible physical and mental results right at home, without breaking the bank or the furniture (most of the time).

Now, I want to share that discovery with you. Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned practitioner, I believe you can build strength, focus, and vitality from the comfort of your own space—what I like to call your temple. With a bit of guidance, some resourcefulness, and a touch of humor, you’ll find that the tools for transformation are closer than you think (probably right under your nose or the couch).

So, let’s embark on this journey together. We’ll train, grow, and maybe even laugh at ourselves along the way (trust me, some moves look ridiculous before they feel amazing). Martial arts isn’t just a practice; it’s a lifestyle—and I can’t wait to help you make it yours.
